Selling cakes from her cake stall, Berry Springs Markets co-ordinator Mel McMurdie was equally as excited about the social aspect of returning to the markets to catch up with others in the community.

“A lot of people don’t venture into town very much, if at all,” she said.

“As well as coming to the markets for their breakfast or gift shopping it’s a good place to meet up, it’s a social hub for people from the surrounding areas, we even get people from Dundee. It’s something closer to home for people who live out this way.”

The Berry Springs Markets open this Sunday, running on the last sunday of every month from 8am to 12pm.
