The band Short Stack is back and they don’t look the same

One of the most famous Aussies faces to come out of the early 2000s music scene looks so different you may not recognise him.

The band Short Stack are back making music and their grown-up appearances may shock you.

Shaun Diviney, Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb have returned as an iconic trio and have just released a new single ‘Shotgun Wedding’.

They might sound the same - a pop punk sound heavily inspired by Blink 182 and the grunge music that won over the early 2000s, but they look very different.

They’ve given up on the eyeliner, giant side fringes and skinny jeans and opted for a much clean cut look. Short haircuts, looser pants and no eyeliner in sight.

A fan tweeted: “Not scene hair to boat shoes.”

They went from looking scene to looking, well, pristine.

If you remember Short Stack from the early 2000s they were a pretty big deal in the Aussie music scene,

They made a splash with hits like ‘Sway Sway Baby’ and ‘Shimmy Go Go,’ infectious earworms that got stuck in your head.

Short Stack had a big moment in the sun and can claim two gold selling albums and three top ten singles.

The young band were also ahead of the kerb and helped promote their music by making silly videos on YouTube — and it worked.

They also opened for big international acts like Good Charlotte, The Vamps and locally, The Living End.

The three bandmates were also incredibly interactive with fans on social media like Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook. They were known for being accessible and had a devoted female fan base.

So where have they been?

In 2012, at the height of their fame they announced they were breaking up in a Facebook post and promised to remain friends.

They’ve been on/off ever since and have released the odd album and single but haven’t dedicated themselves to music full time.

Lead singer Diviney, 33 also works as real estate agent on NSW’s central coast.

Yes, he manages working in real estate and being in a rock band.

In a profile with Realestate.com.au in 2019 he explained that giving up on music full-time involved shaking up his look.

“I cut the hair off before I got into real estate – it got to a point where it was really long and dreadlocked, and it smelled a bit, so I got rid of it. I think my wife was kind of stoked when I did that. It was like a full time job looking after it,” he explained.

Despite his rock star status he also said it was pretty easy to change careers and he was able to do his job without too much fanfare.

“I hear from a fan maybe once a week, and I get stuff sent to the office from people as well, which is pretty cool. Most people are pretty respectful of the fact that I work in real estate now,” he said.
