‘We are continuing to see positive job ad growth nationally’: NT job ads up 27.8 per cent

THE number of jobs advertised in the Territory in January was up 27.8 per cent, compared with the same time last year.
The first SEEK Employment Report of the year shows continued positive month-on-month performance in the Territory with an increase of 8.5 per cent last month, compared with December 2020. The national average was 4 per cent.

SEEK ANZ managing director Kendra Banks described the figures as an encouraging start to 2021.
“We are continuing to see positive job ad growth nationally,” Ms Banks said.
“Traditionally, we would see a drop in new job ad growth throughout December, and into the start of January. Pleasingly, in 2021, businesses have been looking to hire from the very first week of the year.

“The Northern Territory, Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia, and Queensland all have job ad volumes significantly higher than in January 2020.”
