BUCKLE up, batten down, hold on tight – the NT News’ Most Powerful list is back.

And this year, it’s got more attitude than ever.

And you’ll only find it right here, exclusively, on the NT News website, ntnews.com.au

There was a lot of talk about our selections on Tuesday.

And there is sure to be a lot more about our choices today.

Number 69 — Dan Murphy’s — will surely get the tongues wagging.

But has there ever been more column centimetres written about a bottleshop?

The Most Powerful list caused a sensation when it was first published a few years back.

Within days, it became known simply as The 120.

The rich and famous pretended they didn’t want to be on it, while their secretaries telephoned to plead for them to be included.

Some people who knew they would be on the list lobbied to be higher up.

For some, not being on the list was the ultimate humiliation – they moved south.
