IN a week when all the talk was about “eye-watering” dollar amounts as Australia’s Federal Budget was handed down, it’s appropriate that the NT News can reveal that it will — starting on Monday — publish its Territory Rich List.
The 15 wealthiest individuals and families with significant ties to the Territory — either through living, working, studying or growing up here, or through having major current or proposed investments or holdings in the NT — make up our countdown.
The Territory Rich List ranks entries by their estimated net worths and has been compiled using publicly available information.
The first three sets of names on our list — Numbers 15 to 13 — will be revealed on Monday exclusively on our website, ntnews.com.au
It will then count down by three entries each day until the Top 3 richest are revealed on Friday next week.
There are some very recognisable names on the list but there are also plenty of surprises.
There are some names you may not have ever heard of, and some that you may not have realised had such strong ties to the Territory.
We can reveal that the entry mark for the 15th richest individual or family is a staggering A$450 million.
Imagine all the Krispy Kremes you could buy with that when they finally open their long-awaited new Darwin shop!
