The day I dropped in to check the new hotel out was a brilliant sun-filled day with gentle sea breezes which made for a relaxing afternoon of drinks and nibbles after a lazy day spent swimming and on the beach. The beauty of Foxy’s Rydges property is that it is the only leisure focused, on-airport hotel in Australia and it is just a few minutes from the beach.

As commentators have noted, you can step off from your plane, step into your room, laze by the hotel’s 25m outdoor landscaped resort-style swimming pool, head to the swanky rooftop bar to take in the views, or retreat to the beach.

And then of course there is the poolside restaurants and adjoining bar or private dining room that offer an alternative, but equally pleasant experience.
