The finalists for the 68th Northern Territory Training Awards have been chosen from more than 100 nominations.
Vying for the top gong in 12 different categories, the selected 23 individuals and 14 businesses will all attend the awards ceremony on September 2.
The gala event will put an emphasis on the future Territory workforce and recognising excellence in the field of Vocational Education and Training.
Among those in the running for awards, ranging from trainee of the year to large employer of the year, are healthcare workers, chefs, personal trainers and tradies.
Nominations were received for workers from all corners of the Territory, from Alice Springs to Nhulunbuy, Batchelor and Marrakai.
Business, Jobs and Training Minister Paul Kirby said the VET industry was key to developing the NT’s local capacity.
He said the finalists stood out in a tough field of competition.
“I congratulate all the finalists in these awards,” Mr Kirby said.
“With more than 3500 apprentices and trainees in-training in the Territory, becoming a finalist is a huge achievement in itself.
“The strong number of nominations reflects a resilient and growing economy as well as showcasing the depth of our local talent.”
