THE Northern Territory is the only jurisdiction to have seen an increase in jobs and wages during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The latest data shows that between March 14 and November 14, the Territory enjoyed a modest 0.3 per cent boost to the number of payroll jobs, and a 0.7 per cent boost to total wages.
All other states and territories suffered drops in both categories.

Victoria and Tasmania were the hardest hit in terms of jobs, at -5.4 per cent and -4.1 per cent respectively.
Western Australia and New South Wales copped it hardest when it came to wages though, recording -5.1 per cent and -5.3 per cent.
South Australia just nudged into the red with -0.8 per cent payroll jobs growth, and -0.7 per cent wages growth.

The national average was -2.9 per cent for jobs and -3.9 per cent for wages.
