ALL About Lounges will shut its doors later this year after about 22 years of service in Darwin.

Owner Anthony Dixon said the decision was partly prompted by the end of the store’s lease in Coconut Grove.

“A lot of people are sad to see us go but it’s a decision we’ve made,” he said.

“We don’t want to continue with the lease, it’s best for the family and business.

“Darwin’s a great place, a lot of family businesses out there are probably finding things hard but we wish them well.”

Mr Dixon hoped Territorians would band together and support local businesses.

“It’s always important to support locals because a lot of people are passionate about what they’re doing and they need encouragement in these times,” he said.

“There’s a lot of negatives and also a lot of great positives about Darwin and it's a matter of working together and talking more positive than talking negative.”

The family have lived in Darwin for more than 40 years and were grateful for the support of Territorians.

“Darwin’s a lovely place, it’s got a lot going for it and we wish our customers well,” he said.

Once closed Mr Dixon said he would focus on his family.

“Family time is the most important thing at the moment,” he said.

“We’ve worked in the family business a long time, it’s always a bit challenging but at the end of the day it comes back to family.”

All About Lounges is still trading and an official closing date is not yet set.
