Family of toddler Lane Graves killed by alligator at Disney World won’t sue
THE family of toddler Lane Graves who was killed by an alligator at a Disney World resort have decided not to sue the theme park.
LOVED ones of the toddler killed by an alligator at an American resort said they won’t file a lawsuit against Disney in connection with the tragedy.
The New York Post reports Matt Graves, the dad of two-year-old Lane Graves, said the family instead wants to concentrate efforts on a foundation in honour of the boy.
“It is our hope that through the foundation we will be able to share with others the unimaginable love Lane etched in our hearts,” Mr Graves, from Nebraska, said in a statement first reported by KMTV in Omaha.
“In addition to the foundation, we will solely be focused on the future health of our family and will not be pursuing a lawsuit against Disney. For now, we continue to ask for privacy as we focus on our family.”
The dad continued: “Melissa and I are broken. We will forever struggle to comprehend why this happened to our sweet baby, Lane.”
“As each day passes, the pain gets worse, but we truly appreciate the outpouring of sympathy and warm sentiments we have received from around the world. We know that we can never have Lane back, and therefore, we intend to keep his spirit alive through the Lane Thomas Foundation.”
Lane Graves was killed by an alligator on June 14 at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
