Cyclone death toll exceeds 1000

The death toll of Cyclone Idai, which devastated southern Africa last month has topped 1000, with thousands more in need of help while disease spreads in the wake of flooding.

Gunmen storm ministry, many dead

Gunmen have stormed Somalia’s ministries of labour and works, killing fifteen people, including the country’s deputy labour minister, in an Islamic extremist attack.
