A woman in her 30s died after falling 30m from a walking track in the Blue Mountains.

A woman has died after falling from a walking track in the Blue Mountains at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Mount Solitary about 2.15pm on Sunday after witnesses reported seeing the woman fall up to 30m.

The woman, 33, died at the popular scene located near Katoomba.

She had been visiting the area with friends on a day trip from Sydney, according to 9 News.

“Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command, Police Rescue, and PolAir responded along with NSW Ambulance and the TOLL helicopter,” police said in a statement.

“Rescuers were winched in and the body of a 33-year-old woman has since been recovered.”

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
