Uproar over passenger’s strange act on plane
This traveller ran into quite the problem on a long-haul flight. A nine second clip was enough to infuriate social media users.
A nine-second clip of a passenger’s strange act on a plane has infuriated travellers.
The video, which was originally posted to Reddit and resurfaced online this week, showed a man reaching behind his seat and wiggling his fingers in front of the entertainment screen for the passenger in the row behind.
That disturbed passenger was trying to watch a movie.
The Reddit user who shared the video said it had happened to their cousin on a long-haul flight.
Many people outraged on behalf of the cousin could not believe they didn’t tell the person to move their hands, however it is unknown what happened before or after the nine-second clip.
”I refuse to believe someone is this obnoxiously inconsiderate,” a viewer wrote.
Others shared more creative ways to fix the problem.
“Time to fake sneeze,” one of many suggested.
Another described how they would pull it off: “I’d get some water on my fingers then ‘sneeze’ and flick it at the hands at the same time.”
“I would literally lick his hand. Might be gross, but bye bye space invaders,” a third said, going a step further.
“Pick a booger and wipe it on them when you tap them to ask them to move their hands,” a fourth suggested.
“Does anybody have a pen?” another wrote.
Someone else penned: “Politely ask them to stop. If that doesn’t work, hand them some chewing gum … preferably recently used.”
Some decided the best course of action was to make the problem passenger uncomfortable instead.
“You should have held his hands,” wrote one.

“This is a display of dominance; the only way you can be the assertive alpha is to reach over and start giving them a shoulder massage,” joked another.
But not all social media users thought the person should be punished.
“Honestly, sometimes I grab behind the headrest to stretch a bit and forget that someone is sitting behind,” explained one traveller. “When I remember, I am of course a bit embarrassed, although I’ve never gone as far as touching the screen. I’m just saying it might not be malicious or due to entitlement.”
