Tourist discovers dead body on rocks after reviewing photos taken 90 metres away at scenic Uluwatu
A tourist in Bali taking photographs of the scenic coastline in Uluwatu made a chilling discovery upon reflection of the images.
A tourist has revealed the disturbing discovery they made while photographing a scenic portion of Uluwatu’s idyllic coastline in Bali.
The tourist, who has not been named by local media, was taking photos of the cliff face and beaches below from a height of around 90m when they captured something that went initially unnoticed.
According to local media, the tourist had snapped multiple images of the picturesque Uluwatu Beach without noticing the human remains between some large boulders.

The Bali Media reports the tourist who snapped the image approached a local tour guide and informed them of the discovery.
Local authorities were then made aware of the body, which appeared to be wedged near the wall of the Uluwatu Kecak Dance performance area, according to media outlet Kompas.
Upon officials arriving to the scene, it is understood the body was confirmed to be stuck on the cliffside, partially hidden by the rocks.
A spokesperson for the Denpasar Police, AKP I Ketut Sukadi, said because of the location of the body, officers from the Water, Marine, and Airborne Police (Polairud) had to work alongside the Bali Search and Rescue Team (Basarbas-Bali) to evacuate the corpse.
“The foreign tourist was photographing the beachfront when the camera unintentionally captured the image of a dead body lying among the boulders at the base of the cliff,” said Sukadi, as reported by local media, adding the deceased is a male and only wearing a pair of underwear.
“At 7:30 pm, police were able to lift the body from the rocky shoreline using mountaineering gear and a pulley.
It has been reported that the body had no form of identification, with authorities now working with local hospitals, missing persons databases, and other resources in an effort to uncover the victim’s identity, The Bali Media reports. The person’s cause of death is also under investigation.
