Qantas plane’s ‘engine issue’ mid flight sees it grounded in Cairns

A Qantas plane has been forced to turn around midflight after reportedly experiencing an engine issue shortly after takeoff.

A Qantas flight has been turned around after it experienced engine issues midflight shortly after takeoff.

QF703 left Cairns International Airport at 2.19pm on Tuesday and had been due to arrive in Melbourne at 5.37pm.

The flight landed safely back in Cairns at 3.34pm.

No emergency services were required after the plane landed.

Qantas has been contacted for comment.
