Qantas passengers evacuated after Perth Airport shut down in fire incident
Qantas customers have been left stranded at one of Australia’s busiest airports with planes left stranded on runways and hundreds of travellers evacuated.
Hundreds of passengers have been evacuated and planes have been left on the tarmac after a fire alarm was set off at Perth Airport.
Perth’s T3 terminal, which services domestic and international Qantas flights, was evacuated after a fire alarm was triggered and sprinklers were set off.
Hundreds of people were seen gathered outside of the terminal after it was emptied in a hurry.

“Perth Airport evacuated. Reports of a kitchen fire. Could be a long day,” one affected passenger wrote on social media.
It’s understood that an incident involving a baggage vehicle hitting a sprinkler valve set off the alarm.
Some passengers were left stranded on planes waiting on the tarmac due to the evacuation.
“Stuck on a domestic Qantas flight on the tarmac at Perth Airport,” one person wrote on social media platform X.
“Apparently the terminal was evacuated and they’ve only let security staff back in.”
Travellers are now being let back into the terminal.
