Paraglider plummets down to earth in terrifying free fall gone wrong
A PARAGLIDER’S race for survival is caught on camera after his chute becomes entangled midair, sending him plummeting.
THIS is the stuff of nightmares.
A paraglider is lucky to be alive after his parachute got entangled in a terrifying free fall, and it was all caught on camera.
The dramatic footage, captured in Kossen, Austria on June 14, shows the man battling strong winds as he flies above a mountainous region. But his ride quickly turns from challenging into a race for survival when he loses control and starts plummeting down to earth.
The man attempts to deploy his reserve chute, but it quickly gets tangled up with the glider, causing him to spiral rapidly downwards.
The terrified man can be heard screaming as he hurtles down to earth.
Fortunately, in what can only be described as a miracle, a tree softens his landing, and he falls to the ground shaken but relatively unharmed.
According to the filmer, he spent the next six days in hospital, but no surgery was required.
