Fans trying to get home from Olivia Rodrigo’s concert were faced with serious issues after two Melbourne train stations were evacuated due to flooding.

Police are on the hunt for two people who they believe damaged fire sprinklers and flooded platforms at Melbourne Central Station.

It’s understood the two people gained access to a stairwell connecting to two platforms at the station and damaged a fire sprinkler.

The two then fled the scene.

The damage caused “extensive” flooding to platforms, resulting in the automatic evacuation at both Melbourne Central and Flagstaff stations.

Due to flooding and the evacuations, the Melbourne underground rail network suffered significant delays.

The American superstar kicked off the Australian leg of her Guts tour in Melbourne on Wednesday. She is set to perform four sold-out shows before heading to Sydney.

“At this stage it is unclear if Miss Rodrigo planned to get home via train or limousine,” police said.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
