New bodycam video from aftermath of viral flight rant
A woman whose bizarre behaviour on a plane went viral can be seen in fresh footage, taken after she was escorted off.
New bodycam footage has emerged showing the moments after a woman’s bizarre meltdown on a flight, which delayed her fellow passengers and subsequently went viral.
Tiffany Gomas, a marketing executive from Dallas, first made headlines after a fellow passenger filmed her in the middle of a mid-air tirade on a July 2 American Airlines flight.
She was seen in the original video pacing the plane and saying, much to the bemusement of other passengers: ‘I’m getting the f*** off and there’s a reason … I’m telling you right now that motherf***er back there is not real and you can sit on this plane, and you can die with them or not. I’m not going to.”
She would not get off the plane and had to be removed by staff. It was later revealed by police that Ms Gomas, 38, had fallen out with relatives she was travelling with, accusing them of stealing her AirPods.
Newly released video from a Fort Worth police officer’s bodycam shows the moment officers approached Ms Gomas after she had been removed from the plane, as she spoke to an airport employee, News Nation reported.
She is seen continuing her bizarre actions while inside the terminal, where she demands to “know more information about the plane” and insists on it being grounded.
She says to the airport employee: “I don’t care if I ever fly with y’all ever again, I want to know about this flight right here. Do not let that plane leave, I’m being dead serious. Do not let that plane leave.”
Meanwhile a second bodycam video shows her outside the airport, where she tells a police officer to go away in an expletive-filled rant.
“My dad’s a cop, f**k you, dude. F**k you … Get the f**k out of my face.”
The police officer simply responds, “Have a nice day,” to which Ms Gomas replies, “You too.”
Her claims about her father being a police officer haven’t yet been verified.
The July 2 police complaint about Ms Gomas alleged some startling behaviour: “The female then started claiming the aircraft was not safe and did not want the aircraft to leave due to her believing it would not make it to its destination.
“Due to the statements the flight attendants felt the aircraft needed to be rescreened. [The airline manager] explained that the passenger was denied boarding and they wanted her escorted to the public side.”
Due to her complaints, all the other passengers on Flight 1009 from Fort Worth to Orlando then had to get off the plane so they could be screened through security again as a precaution.
“TSA personnel arrived at the scene to conduct a full rescreening of the aircraft.”
When police arrived at the gate, Ms Gomas was “distraught” and attempting to board the plane again.
“[The airline manager] gave Ms Gomas a verbal criminal trespass notice, explaining she was denied boarding and needed to depart the secure area,” investigators noted.
She was escorted to the non-secure area of the airport however kept trying to return to the boarding area. Police eventually found her at the terminal kerb, where she was waiting for an Uber.
She was given a ticket for criminal trespass notice which she allegedly refused to sign.
Gomas told the Daily Mail her life has changed dramatically since the video went viral.
“My life has been blown up. It’s frightening. Things go viral and everything changes,” she said.
“No one knows anyone else’s story, and no one should judge. No one knows what it’s like.’”
