Man dies following parachuting accident in northern NSW

A skydiver has plunged to his death while parachuting in northern NSW.

A man has died after a skydiving accident in northern NSW.

Paramedics and police were called to Wimborne Rd on Mount Borah, around 470km north of Sydney, at 12pm on Tuesday after the accident.

Witnesses told officers the man had “impacted heavily on the ground” while landing.

Authorities were called to Mount Borah’s Wimborne Road but they were unable to save the mans life.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man could not be saved and died at the scene.

A crime scene was established while investigations continue into the death.

The man’s parachute and other equipment have been seized for examination.

7News.com.reported the dead man was a Korean national aged in his 60s visiting the region as part of a paragliding club tour group.

Witnesses said the man lost control of his glider and landed hard against the side of the mountain.

Mount Borah near Wimborne in the northern interior of NSW is known for its paragliding and skydiving.
