Man arrested for allegedly trying to kiss sleeping girl on flight

A MAN has been arrested for allegedly trying to kiss a sleeping teenage girl in the seat next to him on a domestic flight in the United States.

A MAN has been arrested for allegedly trying to kiss a sleeping teenage girl in the seat next to him on a domestic flight in the United States.

A spokesman for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport said the 23-year-old man was arrested after the Alaska Airlines flight, which was headed to Anchorage, Alaska from Portland, Oregon, was diverted to Seattle.

The spokesman confirmed to Fox News the man attempted to kiss the 16-year-old girl who was sleeping next to him.

The pilot was notified and reported the incident to police before the plane landed.

The girl is understood to have remained on the plane when it later departed for Anchorage.

The spokesman said the man was co-operative when he was arrested and he was expected to be charged over the alleged incident.

A spokeswoman for Alaska Airlines told BuzzFeed News: “Upon learning about the incident, the flight crew acted swiftly and separated the two passengers and the flight was diverted into Seattle.”

She declined to comment further out of respect for the young girl.

The alleged incident comes just days after a man was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing an unaccompanied 13-year-old girl on an American Airlines flight from Dallas, Texas to Portland, Oregon.

Chad Cameron Camp, 26, has been charged with one count of abusive sexual conduct after he allegedly touched and groped the unaccompanied minor, who was flying home after visiting her father in Texas.

The alleged abuse was interrupted when a flight attendant saw Camp’s hand on the crying girl’s groin, according to police records.

A federal judge has ruled that Camp remain in custody until at least mid-July, while the alleged victim’s family said it was preparing to sue American Airlines for failing to protect the child from what her lawyer described as “30 minutes of hell”.
