Jealous boyfriend crowdfunds trip to spy on girlfriend’s holiday

A JEALOUS boyfriend took to social media in a desperate bid to raise funds - so he could spy on his girlfriend while she was on holiday.

Azel Prather Jr, 25, from Glendarden in Maryland, USA turned to popular crowd-funding website GoFundMe after learning that his 22-year-old girlfriend Marissa had booked a ticket to Miami with friends for spring break.

“If you know anything about Miami, you know that she shouldn’t go without a chaperon,” he wrote.

“We have a great thing going and I would hate to see it go down the drain for a little sand and sun,” he wrote. “If you can find it in your heart to donate ANYTHING to help save my relationship I would greatly appreciate it. I just need a round trip flight.”

Prather provided updates to the website including a picture of his girlfriend in Miami on Instagram in her bikini.

“Her bathing suit pic got 326 likes. Fellas, that right there is called the danger zone,” he wrote.

After more than 2000 shares online and donations from 25 people, Prather managed to source $330 from the crowd-funding site to book the flight to Miami.

“I will be staying wherever she lays her head, eating whatever she eats, and overseeing all parties and fun activity for the duration of the trip,” he wrote, sounding more like a possessive creepy boyfriend than a loving partner.

Prather tweeted updates of his crowd-funding campaign to his followers, for those wondering how his stunt was going.

Not everyone was behind the campaign with comments on his Instagram photos including:

“What is going on in the world! Dudes have not and ounce of pride or shame. Openly insecure to the point that you feel the minute you walk away she's gonna leave you. She gonna leave you for a secure guy right in front od your face,” wrote jgiles54.

“You a legit broke ass dude and a stalker. Typical signs of domestic abuse. She need to move on and get away from your stalking crazy ass. This ain’t love that’s for sure,” wrote sassielassie7

Prather’s campaign was titled “Save My Relationship”, time will tell if that’s what indeed happened.
