The horrifying moment a teenager fell to her death from a roof after she tried to catch her phone has been caught on CCTV.

Melike Gun Kanavuzlar, 15, died after falling from the top of a four-storey building, as she attempted to grab the phone she dropped while taking a selfie.

Distressing footage captured the moment she fell in the town of Ortaca in southwest Turkey.

Melike tragically lost her life, The Sun reports.

The incident was filmed by security cameras from neighbouring buildings in the area.

Medical workers and police rushed to the scene and Melike was taken to a state hospital in critical condition, according to local reports.

The 15-year-old was then transferred to the ICU where she fought for her life for 18 days before passing away. Her funeral was held on October 30.

Melike Gun Kanavuzlar died after falling from a four-storey building.

Sergio Murilo de Lima Santana, 39, was filming himself as the horror accident took place.

And a man plunged to his death in front of his horrified girlfriend after he fell from a 100m cliff in Vincenza, Italy.

Andrea Mazzetto, 30, tragically died after he reportedly lost his balance while trying to retrieve his phone.
