Four-month-old baby dies after temps soared to 48 degrees on trip
The mother of a 4-month-old baby that died during a recent trip in almost 50-degree temperatures has posted a heartfelt message online.
A 4-month-old baby girl has died after being exposed to searing temperatures during a July 4 weekend trip on an Arizona lake, authorities said.
The infant, identified by relatives as Tanna Rae Wroblewski, had been out on a boat on Lake Havasu with her parents when she suddenly fell ill and lost consciousness last Friday evening.
The little girl’s family performed CPR on her until first responders were able to rush her to Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center.
She was pronounced dead after being flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
“We are beyond devastated, heartbroken, there are just no words,” her grief-stricken mum, Tanya Wroblewski, penned in a harrowing Facebook post.
“I will never understand why you had to leave us, you were just too perfect. I love you endlessly and I will look for you everywhere angel.”
The medical examiner hasn’t yet released Tanna’s official cause of death, but authorities suspect it was brought on by a heat-related illness, News 12 reported.
Temperatures in the region soared to highs of 48 degrees last Friday, AccuWeather records show.
Meanwhile, Tanna’s mum revealed in her Facebook post that it had been challenging trying to explain the sudden death to the infant’s older sister.
“We don’t understand why you had to leave, how could she?” Wroblewski wrote.
“She’s left out toys for you and made sure your favourites were all in the bassinet before bed the last couple nights. We are so heartbroken without you baby girl.”
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said it is still investigating the little girl’s death.
