Chaos erupts as flights cancelled at Sydney Airport

Several flights in and out of the airport have been cancelled throwing travel plans into chaos.

Sydney Airport has been thrown into chaos on Friday night with a number of domestic flights in and out of the airport cancelled.

Flights were disrupted amid ongoing wild weather, with about five outbound flights cancelled and passengers complaining of delays.

Seven flights set to land at Sydney Airport were also cancelled.

“WTF is happening at Sydney Airport, been sitting on the tarmac for four hours in Melbourne,” one person wrote on X.

Another said: “Madness at Sydney airport. Multiple flights cancelled, airport staff ordering us out the airport.”

Photos on X show confused travellers at a busy Sydney airport. The photos were captioned: “Sydney Airport, this is a s***show”.

Sydney Airport confirmed severe weather “impacted flights and operations”.

It advised passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline.
