Horrific video of the moment an Australian man was brutally attacked outside a convenience store in the heart of Kuta has gone viral.

The clip, which has been shared by the alleged victim Peter Nye, shows the 28-year-old being attacked with a stool and chased down the street.

Mr Nye, a Queensland FIFO worker, alleges he was bashed and stabbed by a “group of men” in the popular Bali tourist destination on Friday. He claims his friend, Izaeah Wilson, was also assaulted by the group.

As a result of the attack, which happened on Mr Nye’s final night in Bali with girlfriend Scarlett Carruthers, both he and Mr Wilson sustained more than 20 stab wounds between them.

The two men, who were taken to hospital for emergency treatment, are now facing thousands of dollars worth of medical bills because travel insurance wasn’t purchased prior to the trip.

The horrific video, shared by both Mr Nye and Ms Carruthers on their Instagram accounts, appears to shows an altercation outside a convenience store before a stool is launched at one of the men.

My Nye, who appears to have blood streaming from his head, continues to have stools hurled towards him at he backs away down the street.

Bystanders attempt to intervene, before Mr Nye and Mr Wilson escape and the video comes to an end.

Ms Carruthers launched a GoFundMe page in a bid to help cover some of the mounting costs, including hospital bills, additional accommodation and new flight tickets to return back to Australia.

“My partner and his friend ended up being stabbed over 20 times in the face, neck, head, eye, chest, both arms and ear,” she explained of the ordeal.

“My boyfriend nearly lost his eyesight and now has to have cosmetic surgery on his face. [His friend] nearly lost his life due to blood loss, he was given 30 minutes to live if we didn’t get to the hospital on time.

“We are now stuck in hospital where they won’t preform any surgery until we pay for the bill first,” she explained. “The bill for my partner [Mr Nye] is $50k minimum.”

Mr Nye, whose social media account is filled with photos of recent trips to Bali, has posted from Ubud, Seminyak and Denpasar in the past year alone.

Currently, the fundraising page has raised almost $6000 of a $50,000 target.
