Baggage handler caught throwing luggage while unloading plane
Shocked passengers about to board a Qantas flight have slammed the airline after a baggage handler was seen throwing their luggage.
A baggage handler was caught aggressively throwing passengers luggage as he unloaded a Qantas flight, shocking travellers about to board the plane.
The scene was captured on video by travellers departing Karratha Airport in Western Australia where a baggage handler became increasingly rough with the luggage on Sunday.
The baggage handler grabbed suitcases off a conveyor belt and hurled them onto a trolley, sending others bags plummeting onto the tarmac.
“Oh dear. Ktown airport yesterday,” Mark Plaisted wrote on Facebook to accompany the video.
The video drew dozens of appalled responses from the Karatha community.
“Why my cases always come out damaged,” one user wrote.
“Someone’s gonna be in a bit of trouble,” another said.
“Someone needs a career change ASAP,” a third said.
Some users were a little kinder, suggesting the contractor was left alone to cover the workload.
“We all get frustrated at work sometimes! Why is he the only one loading the bags?” one woman asked.
A Qantas spokesperson said the baggage handler is contracted by Qantas and has been stood down while an investigation is underway.
“We are disappointed with the behaviour in this video and we’ve raised it with our ground handling contractor for urgent action,” a Qantas spokesperson said.
“The ground handler in the video has been stood down while they investigate.”
