An American influencer has fallen victim to the popular influencer watchdog account Celeb Spellcheck, after posting an embarrassing fail about Lebanese food to her TikTok account.

Roma Abdesselam, who goes by the username ‘The Stay At Home Daughter’, has been roasted online for referring to Lebanese cuisine as ‘lesbian food’.

The influencer’s unfortunate Instagram video was posted by the Celeb Spellcheck account, and received more than 1000 comments as a result.

The video is quick and essentially shows her consuming hummus-dipped celery sticks before saying to the camera: “Real hummus is so good! I’ve never been so passionate about food the way I am about this hummus. It’s just so good!”

But it was the caption that revealed the woman’s slip up, by writing “Lesbian food is sooo good”, mistakenly using the word ‘lesbian’ instead of ‘Lebanese’.

Followers of the account, which calls out influencers and celebrities who make mistakes on social media, couldn’t resist mocking Ms Abdesselam. The account simply captioned the video with ‘eating out’.

“That can’t be real,” one posted under the video.

“How embarrassing!” another added, “You are kidding!”

Another said: “You can’t make this stuff up …surely this is a joke.”

The error even attracted attention from some high-profile names – including WA’s Brooke Blurton, who appeared on The Bachelorette.

She found the hiccup hilarious – posting a dead laughing emoji.

Despite the mistake, Ms Abdesselam, who has 620,000 TikTok followers doesn’t seem embarrassed after reposting a screenshot to her Instagram account when it made headlines.
