Airport passengers shocked to see porn on TVs at baggage claim
INSTEAD of flight information, the TVs at one airport’s baggage claim left very little to the imagination.
PASSENGERS waiting to pick up their bags in the early morning hours at Portugal’s Lisbon Portela Airport were surprised to see graphic pornographic images broadcast on the television monitors over the baggage carousel.
A YouTube video taken by a bystander captures passengers’ reactions as the explicit sex scenes started playing without warning as flyers waited to claim checked bags.
Most of the flyers seem amused by the odd airport programming decision, but other passengers were horrified to find themselves a captive audience to the adult entertainment.
The risque video, obviously, was not intentionally broadcast. In fact, airport officials say there is an innocent explanation for why there was a surprise peepshow at baggage claim.
“At 3am on October 19, along one of the luggage mats from Lisbon Airport, a TV was tuned (without sound) to a Portuguese generalist channel (this is not a porn channel), which at the time ran a soft porn movie,” an airport spokesman said.
“The situation was corrected promptly. There were no complaints. We will ensure that these situations are not repeated.”
Although the video of the reactions to the inappropriate airport entertainment quickly went viral with thousands of YouTube views, airport officials say they have yet to receive a complaint regarding the unfortunate baggage claim pornography.
