A flight that left Sydney this morning bound for Ayers Rock airport has made an emergency landing in a regional city in Victoria.

A Jetstar flight from Sydney to Ayers Rock Airport has been redirected to Mildura.

Eight emergency vehicles were at 12.14pm today responding to what was initially labelled an “aircraft accident” at Mildura Airfield, according to the VicEmergency website.

The Airbus A320 flight, JQ660, departed Sydney at 10.25am AEDT and landed in Mildura before 12.30pm.

Only one vehicle was still responding at 1.27pm.

A Jetstar spokesman told news.com.au the flight “landed normally” and there was no accident.

“A flight from Sydney to Uluru (Ayers Rock) diverted to Mildura as a precaution after an indicator light in the cockpit showed there was an issue in the cargo hold,” he said today.

“We thank customers for their patience as our teams work to get them on their way as quickly as possible.”

10 News reported the flight made an emergency landing and no injuries were reported.

All passengers have safely disembarked, according to the local newspaper the Sunraysia Daily.
