A man chokes a passenger after she reclines seat
A FLIGHT was forced back to return to the airport after a woman reclined her seat and was allegedly choked by a fellow passenger.
A PLANE was forced back to the gate at Los Angeles International Airport after some unexpected turbulence between two passengers — over a reclined seat.
A male passenger on the Southwest Airlines flight allegedly tried to choke a woman after she tilted her seat back on the San Francisco-bound flight on Sunday evening, according to multiple reports.
“Evidently, we’ve got two passengers who are in a physical altercation, so we need to get turned around back to LAX,” the pilot radioed in to air traffic control, according to NBC News.
Flight tracking data showed that Flight 2010 left Gate 14 at 10:32pm only to return 13 minutes later to Gate 28, according to FlightAware.com.
Southwest Airlines called the incident a “rapidly escalating situation between two passengers.”
“Our initial information is that flight attendants swiftly coordinated with pilots on the flight deck to get the aircraft on the ground safely and quickly after a physical altercation by one passenger against another,” said Melissa Ford, a spokeswoman for the airline.
No arrests were made and the remaining 136 passengers landed in San Francisco five hours later.
Passengers expressed their frustration with the delay on social media.
So two passengers got into a physical fight and that is why I'm still at LAX 5 hours later..
