Travel Deal Tuesday: The best holiday bargains of the week

If you’ve left an Easter getaway to the last minute, this cheap trip to one of our best beaches might be the perfect solution.

With the Easter break hopping towards us in just a few sleeps time, turns out leaving a trip to the last minute can actually pay off.

As part of News.com.au’s Travel Deal Tuesday— which looks at three of the best bargains from around the world each week — we’ve found a few standouts for those still wanting to get away for the long weekend.

FLY AND STAY ON THE GOLD COAST FOR JUST $175 A DAY

If the cooler mornings have you dreaming of summer, sand and lazy days by the surf, a flight to the gorgeous Gold Coast might be the perfect break over the Easter long weekend.

The rate and airfare combined works out at about $170 per person, per night.

Offering singles, couples and families a huge list of things to do — including restaurants, clubs, theme parks and bars along the shoreline — you will be spoiled for choice in Queensland.

As a last-minute deal on Expedia, a stay at the luxurious hotel VOCO Gold Coast will set you back just over $175 per person, per night including flights*.

Departing from Sydney with Virgin Australia, all travel dates are between the 21 and 26 April 2019.

This deal could have you on the Gold Coast for around $175pp/per night inclusive of flights.

So, if you were to fly and stay five nights from Sunday 21 April until Friday 26 April, the full rate for one person would be $875 for all flights, taxes and accommodation.

FLY TO BALI AND BACK FOR $150 EACH WAY

If you’re thinking you’d really like to take a break overseas, it’s not too late to book a fare to one of Australia’s most popular destinations — Bali.

Virgin Australia through Flight Centre are offering return flights from $399 per person when departing Sydney or Brisbane, with three nights of accommodation booked.

You could fly to Bali for $150 each way with this special deal.

The offer, which is on sale between 12 April and 29 April, has a few terms and conditions to be met, but if you’re flexible you could fly for less than $150 one way.

If you’re looking for a cheap stay in Bali, there’s currently a seven-day package at Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach, Tanjung Benoa in Nusa Dua, which will save you 45 per cent.

For six nights, you’ll pay $569 a person, twin share (which works out to be just $81 a day). The Hello World offer is valid for travel in select periods until 24 March, 2020, and on sale until 30 April, 2019 when you quote “Viva Bali”

SAVE 35 PER CENT AT AN INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL

If you’re more inclined to an easy “staycation” over the Easter period, the Intercontinental Hotel chain including Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Intercontinental and Crowne Plaza is offering 35 per cent off bookings across Australia.

Valid for stays until 30 June, the discount applies to InterContinental Hotels Group Rewards Club members only, with bookings required three days in advance of the stay.

If you’re looking for something that includes a few treats on arrival, Ovolo Hotel Group have launched a promotional deal for Easter that offers 25 per cent off the room as well as a Lindt Lindor Gift Box and bottle of 2015 McWilliams McW 480 Shiraz.

The package applies to all Ovolo hotels in Australia and Hong Kong.
