Qantas drops biggest sale in 12 months

If there was ever a reason to book that holiday, now would be it with Qantas discounting 400,000 seats across almost its entire global network, marking its biggest international sale in the past 12 months.
The Aussie carrier will have more than 50 routes on sale across 30 destinations from Asia, the Americas, the United Kingdom and Pacific.
The global sale is on now until February 10, unless sold out prior and is for travel between February 5, 2025 to January 15, 2026.
It also includes the airline’s newest routes launching later this year — Melbourne to Honolulu which will take off from May 1 and Darwin to Singapore, taking off from March 30.
Fares start at $499 return in Economy with select travel dates through to January 2026, including during school holiday periods for some destinations.
Some of the destinations include hotpots such as Bali, London, Tokyo, Los Angeles, New
York and Palau.
Qantas CEO International Cam Wallace said nearly 10 million Australians travelled overseas last financial year and due to the demand the airline has made it “even easier for customers to explore the world with our major international sale”.
“Almost every destination on our international network is included in the sale, so whether you’re looking for a long weekend getaway to Bali, or a longer break in London or New York, there is something for everyone.”
Mr Wallace said since the launch of its newest route Palau, there has been huge interest, adding it’s also part of the sale.
“The sale is a fantastic opportunity for travellers to snap up some great deals and start planning their next international adventure.”
Fares include checked baggage and complimentary food and beverages and also allows frequent flyers to use their points, with the discounted seats able to book as Classic Plus Flight Rewards.
Some example Classic Plus fares include Sydney to London return in Economy – 99,400 Qantas Points (plus $755 in taxes, fees and carrier charges).
Sydney to Bali return in Economy – 43,100 Qantas Points (plus $248 in taxes, fees and carrier
charges).
Melbourne to Tokyo (Haneda) return in Economy – 66,400 Qantas Points (plus $285 in taxes, fees and carrier charges) and Sydney to Los Angeles return in Economy – 80,600 Qantas Points (plus $393 in taxes, fees and carrier charges).
Meanwhile, Virgin Australia also dropped a huge international sale on Monday with fares starting from $439.
The five-day sale is for short haul international destinations such as Fiji, Vanuatu, Bali, Samoa and Queenstown.
The cheapest fare starts at $439 return on Economy Lite from Melbourne to New Zealand’s picturesque South Island destination, Queenstown, while from Sydney it’s $469.
Etihad Airway announced its sale on Tuesday with round-trip economy fares starting at $1,392 from Sydney to Rome, and business class from $7,578 for flights from Sydney to Zurich. Other key destinations include Athens, Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Madrid.
It’s on now until February 7 for travel between March 1 and June 20, 2025,
Guests also have the option to add a stopover and select a complimentary hotel as part of the online booking process. Guests can choose a free stay for one or two nights in a range of premier hotels across the city. Stopover packages are only available when booking direct on etihad.com.
