‘Open for business’: Jetstar launches insane $54 sale to Australian hotspot
Jetstar has dropped a mega sale for flights to an Aussie holiday hotspot, with prices starting as low as $54.
Jetstar has dropped prices on flights to Queensland as low as $54 as part of a bid to boost the state’s tourism in the wake of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
More than 14,000 seats across a variety of domestic routes are up for grabs in the 72-hour sale, which is running in conjunction with Tourism Events Queensland.
Destinations include Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, Mackay, Hamilton Island, and Cairns.
Flights include $54 fares from Newcastle to the Gold Coast, $57 for flights from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast and as little as $123 for flights from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Cairns and $124 to reach Hamilton Island.
The Queensland sale is perfect for families hoping to travel for the Easter holidays, according to Tourism and Events Queensland’s Ollie Philpot.
“Easter is simply a great time to holiday after a busy start to the year, and these heavily reduced Jetstar flights provide an affordable opportunity to come and visit us in Queensland,” Mr Philpot said.
“There’s no doubt Queensland businesses have experienced a tough start to the year.
“It’s terrific to be partnering with Jetstar reinforcing the message that Queensland is open for business.
“We can’t wait to welcome as many visitors as possible,” he said.
The sale aims to get people back into the state “sooner rather than later”, Mr Philpot added.
“Jetstar loves Queensland – last year we flew over 6.7 million people to southeast Queensland alone, so we know our customers love it too,” Jetstar Group chief executive Stephanie Tully said.
“We’re thrilled southeast Queensland is welcoming visitors again after recent weather events – and we’re excited to help bring them there.
“We look forward to continuing work with Tourism Events Queensland to support its growing tourism economy.”
Travel dates vary per route, but include flights from late March to late April.
The Queensland sale starts at midday on Friday, March 21 and will end at midnight Monday, March 24, unless sold out prior.
