Aldi’s iconic Special Buys range is back with a twist

Every year when Aldi releases this middle aisle sale range, Aussies lose it – and this year’s has promised to be even bigger and better.

Aldi ranked as the cheapest supermarket to buy groceries in a new report

Aldi’s iconic Snow Gear Special Buys are back, with the popular retailer promising it to be a “big one” to mark its 20th anniversary in Australia.

It has been two decades since the German retailer launched the snow gear sale in the middle aisle that gets Aussies lining up at ungodly hours to get their hands on the discounted goodies.

In celebration, the popular retailer has launched a premium range describing it as their “coolest collection” to date, with more than 65 products under $100.

Dropping in store on Saturday, May 17, the range will also include fresh additions such as the Waist-Belted Ladies’ Snowsuit ($79.99) which looks like it’s flung directly from the runway to the middle aisle, as well as the new Aldi Ski Sweater for those who want to show off their Aldi obsession.

“We know our Aussie customers look forward to our annual Snow Gear Special Buys sale, and we’re blown away by the overwhelming response by shoppers every year who line up before the store opens to get their hands on the range,” an Aldi spokesperson told news.com.au.

“The momentum we have seen over the last 20 years is reflective of the high quality and low price point Aldi’s Snow Gear presents.

“Our customers continue to be excited about the release of the range each year, and we look forward to being part of their snow holiday plans with top quality gear at low prices in 2025.”

From insulated thermals and waterproof jackets and pants, to boots and gloves, adults can kit themselves out from head to toe for just $263.89 and kids from $182.90.

Whether shoppers are seasoned skiers or snow sport first timers, or just looking for quality winter wear at affordable prices, Aldi said this is a trip to the middle aisle that’s not to be missed.

Last year’s most popular items that are back again this year include the Adult’s Merino Tank or Women’s Camisole, $19.99 – great for layering on and off the slopes – and it’s the same price for 2025.

“We’re excited to share the coolest collection we’ve had since it first hit our shelves over 20 years ago,” the spokesperson said.

“While comfort and durability is always a top priority, we’ve made this year’s range fashion-forward too. Looking at trends and keeping a close eye on the slopes, we’ve introduced styles that not only perform but also turn heads.

The retailer works with partners across the globe “who are experts in snow gear innovation to create premium apparel at affordable prices across every layer”.
