The moment you step foot inside this estate you instantly understand why it’s one of the country’s best holiday homes for 2024.

Nothing screams ultimate girls getaway like a massive estate with multiple bathrooms (very important), swimming pool, fire place, huge kitchen, spacious bedrooms and of course... tranquillity.

The moment this sprawling property, conveniently named ‘Casa Scenic’, was listed on platforms like Stayz a year ago, it was immediately booked out – and not much has changed.

The mammoth property located on Sydney’s central coast has dates secured months in advance with weekends and holidays filled at over 95 per cent capacity.

‘Casa Scenic’ boasts six bedrooms spread over two levels on a sprawling 1.6-acre private estate boarded by Bouddi National Park.

While it’s the go-to for families, it’s also been dubbed the perfect girls weekend away.

“The house is absolutely gorgeous and the pool is wonderful. We really enjoyed our girls weekend. Kitchen was well stocked with platters and plates for shared meals and four bathrooms is a dream for a big group. We loved it. It’s also really quiet and so lovely to listen to the birds in the morning,” one guest posted in the reviews section on Stayz.

As you can see, the living, kitchen and dining space is huge.

Another described it as a “Hamptons-style holiday house (like) a tranquil oasis”, and they’re spot on.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the mammoth property along with my five girl friends and the moment we stepped inside we were in awe of its beauty. Of course, the first thing we did was call dibs on the rooms we wanted – yes, we actually did that.

But given how spacious each room is, it wasn’t much of an argument. There’s also six to choose from with one featuring two single beds and another including a bunk (perfect for kids). The rooms are spread over two levels with the house itself boarded by Bouddi National Park, so it screams peace and serenity.

The bedrooms are also super spacious.

But, it needs to be known how huge each of the four bathrooms are (two are ensuites) because when you’re dealing with six girls, let me tell you, it comes in very handy.

It also didn’t take long to realise why it was listed as one of Australia’s Best Holiday Homes of 2024 by Stayz.

As one guest put it, it has plenty of space, a great layout and great facilities.

“This property was perfect for our weekend getaway, the place was clean, well stocked, and the layout had a great central area that everyone could easily catch up and be together,” she said.

“The outside was even better, large outdoor BBQ area, fire pit, pool and play area for kids. It also had the right combination of feeling like you were alone, but you’re close to great cafes, beaches and facilities.”

And so are the four bathrooms, which come in very handy when on a girls weekend away.

My friends and I took advantage of the spacious kitchen when putting together our very important spread of cheeses, meats, chocolate, fruit (for balance) and of course wine. It also quickly became the hangout when were weren’t laying around on the huge couch in front of the fire place.

Given it was a tad chilly when we stayed in May, we didn’t get to use the pool which was a shame because it’s a magnesium therapy pool.

But we did take advantage of the indoor fireplace. There’s also one outside but we were too cosy indulging in our endless spread to whip out the marshmallows.

There’s also a covered outdoor area which is perfect for hangs in the morning.I’d imagine in warmer days this part of the estate would be very popular.

It’s got a perfect view of the kids play area, so you can keep your eye on them while also knocking a back a few beverages.

The best part of this little getaway was how close it is to Sydney – just a 1.5 hour drive (on average). It was far enough to escape the madness, but close enough to get home without fuss.

There’s also a couple of single beds in one of the rooms downstairs.

It’s also just a 10 minute stroll to the stunning MacMasters Beach with bushwalks nearby through Bouddi National Park that offer views of Pittwater and Palm Beach.

It’s also close to local cafes, restaurants and bars in Copacabana, Avoca Beach and just 10 minutes from Terrigal.

The owners of Casa Scenic, Sean and Ana Hancock, gave it a big revamp before they listed it on Stayz and Airbnb with a redesign of the open plan living, incorporating a completely new high cathedral roof and skylights.

Given the property is only a year old, everything is still in top-notch condition and reflects the true luxury nature of the space.

Ms Hancock said what makes the property such a hit is the layout and ease of access allowing people of all ages, from toddlers to grandparents to enjoy the home.

“The instant ‘wow factor’ is the wonderful, extra-spacious main living room with cathedral ceilings and direct open access to front and side outdoor areas and integrating the large family-sized kitchen,” she told me.

As you can see, the property is located close to MacMasters beach - just a 10 minute stroll.

“However the extra features of the home all live up to the same incredibly high standard – those stunning bathrooms with curved mosaic tiles, the sparkling magnesium swimming pool, the amazing kids playground, the fire pit and just having such open space to roam, relax and play. Adding to all this is the fact the beach is only a 10-15 minute walk.”

She said from accepting a week-long booking on the day it went online, “it honestly hasn’t let up”.
