James Matthey has been a sports journalist at news.com.au for more than five years. While completing a double degree in Journalism and International Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney, he wrote for Rugby League Player Magazine, football website Goal.com and worked at AFL NSW/ACT. James has been on the ground to report on major international sporting events such as The Ashes, Wimbledon and the 2019 Cricket World Cup in the UK, as well as the 2019 Women’s Football World Cup in France. He has also covered the likes of Roger Federer and Nick Kyrgios at the 2018 Australian Open and 2020 ATP Cup.
