FILE IMAGE - Former swimming coach John Wright has been extradited from Western Australia the 78-year-old man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court after detectives from the Child Abuse and Sexual Crime Group successfully applied for his extradition from Western Australia. The man was arrested on Wednesday 20 October, 2021 by members of the WA Police Force, following investigations by Queensland Police into a number of alleged indecent dealing offences that took place between 1980 and 1986 in the Brisbane and Rockhampton areas. He will appear in court charged with nine counts of indecent dealing of a child and one count of common assault.
