Woman charged with attempt to solicit kidnap and assault of NSW man
Detectives have charged a woman over an alleged plot to solicit the kidnap and assault of a man on the NSW Far North Coast.
A woman has been charged over a disturbing plot that police allege involved her soliciting the kidnapping and assault of a man on the NSW Far North Coast.
Detectives attached to Strike Force Corks had been investigating allegations of the plot since August this year.
The strike force was a joint venture between detectives from the Tweed/Byron Police District, with assistance from the Northern Rivers Enforcement Squad (RES) and Queensland Police.
Following the investigations a woman, 49, was arrested at her Pottsville home on Thursday.
Police allege she was attempting to solicit the kidnap and assault of a man, 52, who was known to her.
She has been charged with threaten injury to person with intent to commit indictable offence and recruit other to assist in carrying out criminal activity.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Friday.
Investigations under Strike Force Corks are continuing.
