OUR experts give you an early shot at finding that elusive midweek winner as they look at the major cards around the nation.

CANTERBURY

NIC ASHMAN (The Daily Telegraph)

BANKSTERS BONUS

Race 7, No. 1

Had excuses at Australian debut and showed huge improvement last week. Backs-up here and this looks perfect if he can get some luck from the barrier.

STEPHEN ZAMMIT (The Daily Telegraph)

TRANSFERS

Race 6, No. 7

Trained by John O’Shea, this mare is ready to win after two solid runs back from a spell. She ran into trouble at Canterbury last time out when running third and has a liking for the 1250m at the track. With a 3kg claim for apprentice Brodie Loy, she gets in on the limit here with just 54kg, which is very appealing.

JOHN DAVIS (The Daily Telegraph)

TRALFAZ

Race 6, No. 6

Does not win out of turn but gets a lot of favours here with the inside marble and Hugh Bowman on board. Will appreciate the soft conditions, as well.

SEYMOUR

MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun)

MAKING MAYHEM

Race 8, No. 6

Promising three-year-old who has form around some good horses — Durendal, Madam Gangster, Profit Share — resuming from a spell. Has trialled well. Also has won fresh before.

GAWLER

LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser)

PADLOT

Race 4, No. 5

Former import set to kick off his second Australian campaign for the Tony McEvoy stable.

Should be better for the experience, has trialled nicely and looks hard to beat.
