ROSEHILL

NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph). Tipster’s form: 55672

GOLDEN ARO

Race 8, No. 11

Much fitter than he was at Canterbury when resuming over 1580m. Trackwork good and looks a nice each-way bet at double figure odds.

TAB Fixed Odds: $12

STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 37131

JAPONISE

Race 3, No. 4

From the Chris Waller stable, this lightly-raced gelding resumed from a spell and was well ridden to land a solid win on a soft track at Canterbury on July 8. Had plenty of support on that occasion and will strip even fitter here. Should handle the heavy OK and he appeals great value at the double figure odds currently on offer.

TAB Fixed Odds: $11

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 23615

SCOTTISH BORDER

Race 8, No. 3

Peaks now after flying from the back to finish within four lengths of his rivals over this track and trip last time. Hugh Bowman engagement is a positive sign.

TAB Fixed Odds: $51

DARREN PRENDERGAST (Super Racing). Form: 14409

ELUSIVE CATCH

Race 2, No. 4

Wet-tracker from the in-form Liam Birchely stable will be in her element at Rosehill. Heads south after a win at the Gold Coast and a placing at the Sunshine Coast.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6.50

SHAYNE O’CASS (The Sportsman). Form: 9

SENSE AND REASON

Race 4, No. 5

Had no realistic chance of winning last start the way the race was run. Prior to that she ran OK at Randwick but was really good at HQ before that when there was sufficient pace in the race. She will need a fair track and a genuine tempo — never a certainty in Sydney — but if so, expect some sharp improvement.

TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50

FLEMINGTON

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 22242

BISHOPS CASTLE

Race 2, No. 3

Likes the straight, excellent last start and fitter. Looks the winner.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50

MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 72903

HERSTORY

Race 5, No. 2

Should be ready to win after three good runs back from a spell. Back to own sex after great second at Caulfield last start. $4.20 looks over the odds.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20

DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun) Form: 041

JALAN JALAN

Race 1, No. 6

Held up and should have finished closer behind smart two-year-old Green Card last start. Gives Ollie a chance to kick-start day with a win.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20

SIMON MOY (Super Racing) Form: 14706

BAGMAN

Race 9, No. 1

Made ground late on inside at HQ last start where surface was suspect late in the day. Will strip fitter being third-up and looks well placed.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.60

DOOMBEN

BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 10567

KAYPERS

Race 6, No. 5

The $17 still available seems a pretty generous price about this horse and his run at Rosehill was much better than it looked the other day when he had to be snagged back from the wide draw before posting the quickest last 200m sectional in the race. Can mix his form a bit but he should be able to settle much closer from the good draw and happy to have something on him each-way. Blue Lion is the other one at double figure odds who should run a big race here.

TAB Fixed Odds: $13

MORPHETTVILLE

LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 36042

ORANGE RIVER

Race 5, No. 10

Good winner first-up from a break at Mildura before stepping up in grade when down the track behind Rough Justice at Flemington. Nicely drawn and should be in the mix.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.40

BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 81244

TIPPERARY LIL

Race 6, No. 11

She’s yet to finish worse than second in eight starts and couldn’t have been more impressive when a sharp winner here first-up. She steps up in class and has drawn a touch wide but looks to have the class to keep building on her stellar record. A great each-way hope.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 03144

TIP RAT

Race 3, No. 2

Resumed from a spell with a strong win at this track and looks to have come back a much better galloper, $6 looks a safe each-way play.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50
