RANDWICK

Christian Nicolussi

Race 7 No 1

BUFFERING

TAB fixed odds: $6

This Queenslander sprinter was a bit soft when resuming over the unsuitable 1000m journey. Trainer Rob Heathcote has poured the work into him since, and he loves a wet track. He’ll be in this for a long way up the straight.

Race 9 No 14

HIGH HARMONY

TAB fixed odds: $15

Caught the eye getting home over the mile at Warwick Farm, and the only concern for trainer Guy Walter is if this campaign has arrived all too soon for his filly. At this price, High Harmony is way over the odds, especially when she’s prepared by a bloke who has won this race five times.

John Davis

Race 1 No 9

DONELLE

TAB fixed odds: $6

Went too keenly in front last time and knocked up inside the last 50m. Back to 1100m nowy and has the best sit-and-sprint jockey in the country on her back.

Race 5 No 8

PEGGY JEAN

TAB fixed odds: $4.20

Has been crying out for a middle distance trip and gets to it now. Nash Rawiller sought out this ride, which is a strong pointer.

Inglis Classic winner Peggy Jean is sure to relish the extra distance of Saturday’s Inglis Sires.

Shayne O’Cass

Race 5 No 8

PEGGY JEAN

TAB fixed odds: $4.20

Daughter of Myboycharlie and all but beat Bring Me The Maid in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes and given that filly was placed in the Golden Slipper, thus the form lines are compelling. Peggy Jean seems very comfortable on wet ground and Nash Rawiller is in golden form at present. Provided she gets a genuine tempo upfront, she’ll be finishing with her usual blast.

Race 3 No 16

PAPILLON ROUGE

TAB fixed odds: $15

Resuming here off couple of trials and the latest was a gem. This daughter of Fastnet Rock has always shown talent and this is her first crack at blacktype or open grade but she has matched motors against some nice fillies on the way through. Glen Boss is sure to give her a nice run in transit from barrier eight and she has a decent finish on her.

Stephen Zammit

Race 5 No 3

TIME FOR WAR

TAB fixed odds: $8

Has raced just twice for two game wins. Led throughout last time to score in the wet at Rosehill Gardens with apprentice Damien Thornton in the saddle. He retains the mount here and should take up the running and prove very hard to run down again.

Race 4 No 3

THE OFFER

TAB fixed odds: $3.20

This stayer from the Gai Waterhouse stable has really come of age of late, indicated by his last start 3-1/4 len win from Opinion in the Rosehill Gardens Manion Cup on a heavy track. Takes on similar opposition, with a track condition that is going to be very close to the same again. Will go very close to ringing up a winning double.

John Sibbald

Race 5 No 8

PEGGY JEAN

TAB fixed odds: $4.20

Blake Shinn missed the boat on her at Rosehill on a heavy track when this daughter of Myboycharlie ran home from 14th on the turn for a tragic second to Bring Me The Maid. Nash Rawiller takes over on Saturday and the step up to 1400m looks ideal.

Race 2 No 3

SINJOREN

TAB fixed odds: $13

Resumed with a great first-up third at Warwick Farm over 1400m on April 2 and will strip fitter. Big step up in grade but looks to have the class and Christian Reith takes over the reins.

Michael Manley

Race 8 No 7

SPEEDINESS

TAB fixed odds: $17

Great run last start in the George Ryder at weight-for-age when run down in the closing stages. Has a nice weight drop and loves it wet.

CAULFIELD

Michael Manley

Race 7 No 6

KNEELING

TAB fixed odds: $13

Freshened-up since being competitive in Stakes races. Just beaten in the Christmas Stakes here four starts ago. Likes it wet and will only have 53.5kg after the claim for Shaun Guymer.

Race 3 No 14

TRIED AND TIRED

TAB fixed odds: $4.20

Lightly raced galloper with a good strike rate. Won well at Sportingbet Park last start and should get a great run again just off the speed in this. Stick with him.

MORPHETTVILLE

Tom Biddington

Race 8 No. 1

KUSHADASI

Talented type on an SA Derby trail. Beat his rivals convincingly last start and gets in well under the set-weights conditions here. Handles all ground, drawn well and should get a gun run from Steven Arnold. Clearly the one to beat.

Race 7 No. 3

ESPRIT DE BULLET

Ran sixth in the Lightning Stakes two starts back and flew home for third in the Listed Manihi Stakes last run when giving all his other rivals weight. Under-rated type who is massive overs. Definite each-way hope.

Michelle Payne has a tight grip of Platelet to win the Gilgai Stakes.

Lincoln Moore

Race 7 No. 9

PLATELET

Quality mare who claimed the Group 1 sprint double in Adelaide last year and her effort first-up back from a spell over 955m was first class. She’s drawn perfectly here, races super second-up and looks ideally placed. Class will carry her a long way. The horse to beat.

Race 3 No. 9

VALID CONTRACT

Drawn a horror barrier here but comes to Adelaide on the back of an impressive Moonee Valley win when she was well tried to score. Handles the sing out of the ground, looks on the up and is super value.

DOOMBEN

Nathan Exelby

Race 3 No. 3

ELUSIVE STORM

Not much depth here and hard to see punters wanting to back anything away from this girl or Tambo’s Jewel. Elusive Storm beat a subsequent impressive winner last time and looks like enjoying a very soft run up near the speed. Has to start shorter.

Race 7 No 13

SHIRAZ ATTACK

Very promising filly who is suited by the 1350m fresh here. Will sit off the speed, but come with a rush and she’s well placed at the set weights.

Brad Davidson

Race 8 No 9

JUST A PERLA

Got the job done on the wet track last time out but he is effective on the dry as well. He should get a nice run from the good gate and prove hard to run down again.

Race 4 No 11

CLEAVER

Can be a pretty hard horse to catch but it could pay to forgive his last run on a wet track. Before that he put in two nice enough performances on dry tracks and the $21 on offer with some bookmakers looks over the odds.

T J SMITH BONUS BET OFFER

The TAB is giving punters a fantastic incentive to back the winner of the T J Smith Stakes on Saturday. If you place a fixed odds win bet on the sprint and your horse wins, they’ll give you a bonus bet up to the value of $50.
