Conor McGregor engaged to girlfriend Dee Devlin

You couldn’t wipe the smile off UFC star Conor McGregor’s face as the Irishman announced he and his longtime partner are now engaged.

Conor McGregor is getting married.

The UFC’s biggest name announced on Instagram he and longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin are engaged after he popped the question on his better half’s birthday.

McGregor posted a picture of himself and Devlin — wearing a shiny, new ring — on social media to break the news to his 36. 7 million followers

“What a birthday, my future wife!” he wrote.

The post was liked by more than 2.2 million people at the time of writing as messages of congratulations flooded in.

The pair already have two children together — son Conor Jack McGregor Jr, born in 2017, and daughter Croia, born in 2019.

Devlin has been by McGregor’s side for the entirety of his journey scaling the heights of the MMA world as he went from apprentice plumber in Ireland to UFC king.

They’ve been together since 2008 and plan on keeping it that way for the rest of their lives.

McGregor has regularly paid tribute to Devlin for being his rock.

“My girlfriend worked very hard throughout the years and stuck by me when I had essentially nothing,” he told the Irish Mirror.

“For me to be able to take her out of work, give her everything she’s ever wanted and to travel the world with, fills me with pride.

“Every day, since I started out in this game, she’s supported me.

“She’d drive me to the gym, and she’d listen to all my dreams. Dee is a lifesaver for me. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for her, and that’s for sure. I’m doing all of this for her.”

McGregor last fought in January when he beat Donald Cerrone via TKO at UFC 246.

He has repeatedly said he wants a rematch against lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov after the Dagestani defeated him via submission at UFC 229 in October 2018.

However, UFC president Dana White said recently there are no plans for the Irishman to fight in 2020.
