NRL hardman Adam Elliott brought to tears during Millie Boyle’s NRLW speech
Grand Final day bring out all kinds of emotions and NRL forward Adam Elliott was caught wiping tears from his eyes.
NRL star Adam Elliott has been filmed wiping tears from his eyes after his long-term partner Millie Boyle led her Newcastle Knights to the NRLW premiership.
Boyle, the captain of the Knights, led from the front as Newcastle went from last to first, winning the club’s maiden premiership in its second season in the competition.

Boyle ran for 271 metres from 30 runs and made 23 tackles in the result.
In the second NRLW competition of the season — the 2021 season was played in early 2022 due to the Covid pandemic — the Knights won 32-12, blowing the scoreline out with three tries in the last seven minutes in what had been a tight affair.
Speaking on stage after the result, co-captain Boyle was all smiles.
“I’m the co-captain this year alongside Hannah Southwell and I want to get Hannah up, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her,” Boyle said.
“Unfortunately Han got an ACL injury in round one which is just absolutely devastating but our team wouldn’t be anything without her.”
After her thank yous, Boyle paid tribute to the families before the camera found Elliott
wiping away tears in the crowd.
The heartwearming scenes continued when Elliott, wearing Boyle’s premiership ring and a jumper with her name on it, carried her on his shoulders as the Knights celebrated their big win.
“Thank you to our family and friends for travelling down. We can hear you, we can see you and we love you so much,” Boyle said.
They were incredible scenes for the 27-year-old Elliott, who has played 125 matches in the NRL, in support of his partner Boyle.
Elliott will join Boyle in Newcastle next season on a reported three-year $1.4m deal, having spent a year at the Canberra Raiders after being forced out of the Canterbury Bulldogs.
The couple caused a stir when they first got together after the pair were discovered by security in a restaurant bathroom.
Boyle maintained it was “an innocent kiss” but Elliott was reportedly escorted out of the venue without a shirt on.
He was fined $10,000 by the league for bringing the game into disrepute and ultimately parted ways with the Bulldogs, agreeing to walk out on his contract with a reported two years and a $1 million on the table.
Soon after the scandal however, the pair revealed they were in a committed relationship and have become one of the sport’s power couples.
Boyle poked fun at the situation with an Instagram post, writing: “Lost a milli. gained a Millie.”
Boyle had spent three years at the Broncos and won the NRLW Dally M player of the season earlier in the year, while the Knights victory is her fourth title.
