Tarek Zahed: First photo emerges of Comanchero Bikie after shooting
The first photo of notorious bikie boss Tarek Zahed has emerged, after he miraculously survived a targeted hit that left his brother dead.
The first photo of notorious Comanchero bikie boss Tarek Zahed has emerged after he was shot 10 times in an assassination attempt that killed his brother, Omar Zahed, 39.
The brothers were gunned down while leaving a BodyFit gym in the western Sydney suburb of Auburn in May this year.
While Omar died at the scene after going into cardiac arrest, Tarek, 41, miraculously survived despite sustaining multiple shots to his body and head.
The picture was shared by the President of the Comanchero bikie gang, Allan Meehan, while at a function in Melbourne, The Daily Telegraph reports.
“Welcome back tarek “hard2kill” zahed (sic),” wrote Meehan.
Tarek, dubbed the ‘Balenciaga Bikie’ for his expensive taste in designer clothing, can be seen on the far-left wearing a designer Fendi jumper and black sunglasses.
Meehan is next to him in a Versace sweatshirt and Comanchero associate Mohamad “Almo” Alameddine is also in the photo, holding his middle finger to the camera.
Meehan later reshared the photo on his Instagram stories, alongside the caption: “Love and brotherhood. Forget what ya heard..”
The comment was most likely in regards to the reported tussle for the top Comanchero position.
Meehan was installed into the top job in July of this year, after former boss Mick Murray was charged over the alleged 2019 murder of an associate of underworld kingpin, Tony Mokbel. At one point, it was believed Tarek was also in the running to take over the role.
At the time, The Daily Telegraph reported that Tarek’s vision may have been seriously compromised in the May shooting.
Sources told the publication that the career bikie lost sight in his right eye and only had 20 to 30 per cent of vision in his left eye.
He also received extensive injuries to his arm, legs and pelvis too.
The Comanchero Motorcycle club are one of the largest outlaw bikie gangs in Australia. Earlier this month, former Comanchero Commander, Mark Buddle was also placed under custody of the Australian Federal Police and extradited from Turkey.
The 37-year-old is facing two charges for allegedly importing cocaine that had a street value of $40m.
