Shocking images show the aftermath of a horror collision in Melbourne, with the impact sending one car rolling onto its side.

Lucky escape from terrifying carpark crash

A man and woman have been killed after a horror collision in Melbourne south-east suburbs.

The male driver of a black BMW sedan allegedly collided with a another vehicle while travelling along North Road in Caulfield South about 10.45pm.

The impact forced the other car to roll, police allege.

A man and a woman who were inside that car died at the scene.

They are yet to be formally identified.

The driver and passenger of the BMW sedan sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

The area was cordoned off while the scene was assessed overnight.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Shocking images from the scene show on vehicle flipped on its roof with debris covering the road.

Another car had its front bonnet completely smashed in.
