A 16-year-old boy was stabbed at the annual Islamic Eid Festival in Dallas and transported to the Royal Melbourne Hospital around 8.50pm in a stable condition.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Investigators have been told that a number of people were involved in an altercation near Gibb Reserve around 8.25pm. A 16-year-old boy is believed to have been stabbed during the incident. Police dispersed the crowd and the boy was taken to hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries,” Ms Batty said.
The two-day event, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, marks the Eid Al-Adha Muslim holiday.
