POLICE have seized a cache of weapons including spear guns, a crossbow even a military hand grenade from a residential home in Melbourne.
POLICE have seized a cache of weapons including spear guns, a crossbow even a military hand grenade from a residential home in Melbourne’s southeast.
Detectives from Caulfield divisional response unit used a search warrant to enter Keith Ave, Edithvale at about 6pm on Tuesday.
Sergeant Nick Lamb said three people, a female in her 50s, a man in his 60s and another man in his 20s were taken into custody after a large quantity of weapons consisting of firearms, firearm pieces, ammunition and knives were found.
“It’s a great concern to our office and Victoria Police that people are stockpiling such amounts of weapons,” Sergeant Lamb said.
“If people do hear of people who are in possession of weapons we would like them to contact Crime Stoppers.”
“If you are in possession of a firearm we will come looking for you.”
Cannabis was also found inside the home.
