Worker injured from falling down lift shaft at Thebarton
A seriously injured man has been winched to safety after falling down a lift shaft in Adelaide’s west.
A worker has suffered serious injuries after falling down a lift shaft at Thebarton.
The man was building the lift inside a building on Stirling St when he fell 5m down the shaft around 11am on Friday.
Firefighters conducted a confined space rescue and winched the 34-year-old man, who was conscious, to safety.
The man had multiple injuries and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
