Woman detained after Grange unit set alight
A Grange unit has been extensively damaged by a deliberately-lit fire — a woman has been detained over the incident.
A woman has been detained after a Grange home was allegedly set alight last night.
Police and emergency services were sent to Grady Way just before 7.20pm after receiving reports that a unit was on fire.
They arrived to find the property well alight but managed to limit the blaze to the one unit.
The 25-year-old male occupant and his dog managed to evacuate safely.
Firefighters extinguished the inferno in 15 minutes but the blaze caused about $100,000 damage.
No one was injured in the incident.
Police arrested a 35-year-old Campbelltown woman over the incident and she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for psychiatrically assessed.
She is expected to charged with arson.
Police say the occupant and the woman are known to each other.
